I wanted to add a photo of Amaya. Had to scan this, so I am not sure how it will actually turn out. I "brightened" it a bit, so if it is washed-out let me know.
We had this outfit made for her while fostering in 2004. I have to be honest, we (or I should say I) was so excited about the Maya culture that I somehow assumed our daughter would most definitely be a descendant. Well, turns out that isn't true. But, we liked the outfit and forced her in it for a photo "op."

Troy, please finish telling what happened. Blanca was our attorney, we did finally bring our daughter home!

Posted by: Nancy at March 8, 2007 07:58 PMWow...what an awesome photo. My daughter doesn't fit in hers anymore (sigh). She got to wear it at a little culture presentation I did but we had to put a T-shirt under it so that she was decent. Its long past time for another trip!!
But I LOVE this picture...I don't know if its hard for you...but getting a non-goofy picture of a 4 year old is near impossible at this household....and believe me, I have a TON (model pose not withstanding!)
Nancy - I love the hair...wish a perm would give me that look ;-) But then, my daughter has very black straight hair and I will scream if she ever asks to get a perm!!!
