Maura Meade-Callahan has written a position statement for us. I encourage everyone to take the time to read it and sign it. As many of you know, UNICEF has been pressuring the Central Authority to implement unrealistic procedures.

Posted by: michele saracino at June 23, 2003 10:07 AMI am the mother of an adopted child. I was fortunate enough to connect with my child when she was four months old. This has made a huge difference in her development. No reason is good enough to keep a child from a loving, nurturing home. I emplore those officials who for whatever reasons choose to delay these adoptions to reconsider their thinking. If they really had the concern of these children at heart, every child could have a chance at a better life.
Posted by: M. Curtin at June 23, 2003 03:43 PMwe want Ruthie to come the U.S. and be adopted by the Gianotti family.
Posted by: Pat Turner at June 23, 2003 08:23 PMPlease allow this child the opportunity to be part of a loving family
Posted by: Lynn Tasker Browning at June 23, 2003 10:34 PMWhy deprive this child of the love that the Gianotti's are willing to provide. Let Ruthie be apart of the family she deserves.

Posted by: Harry Lennon at June 24, 2003 07:08 AMWhy deprive Matthew the love that our family is waiting to give him. I am his grandma and I just want to hold him and give him love. Please let him come home to my son where he belongs.
Posted by: Irene Giarrizzo at June 24, 2003 11:51 AMI implore the Guatemalan government to finalize the adoption of all guatamalan children who have loving families waiting for them. It is a terrible injustice to these children to delay their adoptions. Please, please act on this immediately for the sake of the children and the loving families that await their arrival.
Posted by: Rosemary Testa at June 24, 2003 04:26 PMPlease allow the pending adoptions of these children to go through. They deserve the opportunity to become part of a loving and caring family.
Posted by: Maria Flynn at June 24, 2003 05:23 PMI ask for your compassion. It costs nothing. Please allow these children to come home to the families who will love and cherish them!
Posted by: Betty Ann Adorno at June 24, 2003 05:42 PMThe greatest gift anyone can give to a child is their love. These children have families waiting to give an abundance of it. Please don't deprive them of that.......they've been deprived of enough already.
Posted by: Marc Weinstein at June 24, 2003 06:52 PMPlease allow Ruthie to come home to the Gianotti family and all the other children who have families waiting for them. The Gianotti family would bring a tremendous amount of love to her. Why would you deprive someone the chance to have happiness and love in their life? There is too much sadness in the world already.
Posted by: Felicia A. Corbett at June 24, 2003 08:52 PMWe believe that the Gianotti family would offer this child a wonderful home in a loving and caring environment and strongly support the adoption.

The early development of a child is critical, therefore it is imperative to move these pending adoptions forward to ensure that these children have the start in life that they deserve.
