During these times of uncertainty, I want to remind those that are waiting (and those that have completed their adoptions).....PRINT as many stories as you can about the riots, the Hague, emails, news from the day your child was born, etc. These scraps of information will one day be the puzzle pieces your children use to understand the circumstances surrounding their adoption....and therefore, a piece of their identity.
I feel strongly that my daughter's identity will be formed through her life experiences and not just where she was born. However, I think her understanding of the events surrounding her adoption will be extremely important to her.
Not long ago, I said that you need to cherish the struggles. I hope some of you will start to understand why I made that statement....
We do not wish for chaos....but when it is there, we will endeaver to understand its meaning.
Posted by Kelly at July 24, 2003 11:53 PMI decided to remove these posts as they are just not relavent (to those that posted, I am very sorry, I try to keep this as open as possible)...but this is not a forum, though I welcome comments in general I am ALWAYS reluctant to remove someone's opinion. However, that being said....I feel that pieces of each comment is being taken personally by others and it is getting out of control. If we sit back a second, we should all see that WE JUST DON'T KNOW anybody else's circumstances from a mere paragraph. In the same breath, we have ALL over-reacted at times. I cannot say how I would feel being in most of your shoes....but I DO know that I can't make judgements from a few words said in the heat of emotion. As my lawyer said...adoption turns you into a whole new person twice. Once during and Again after......

Kelley, Nice website. It was obviously a judgement you made since you made a decision to remove other people's frank and honest remarks. Especially when emotions run high because their children are involved and may be at risk of being left behind or hurt in any way (not that we agreed or disagreed with the remarks).
Although it is unfortunate that you removed them, my wife and I thank you for an informative website and we hope the best for everyone involved including the children in the middle of all this.
Thank you again for all the information your website has to offer.

ok now lets do something pro active !!!!!
all of us
email abc news, prime time ,george steph
barbara walters
they all say WE ARE LISTENING
well tell them your stories !!!!
especially if you are one of the 1000
cases sitting there . they are releasing
only a handful a month and at this rate
it will take years to get them out
the amparo will help but it will still take
years . the lawyers are helping and trying to save
their jobs and the agencies jobs which is wonderful, i wont dispute that ...
but we need news coverage and we need the white
house to know what is going on ...
what they are doing is illegal ..you cannot
have a hauge treaty between two countries when
one country is not hague compliant.
its up to us to tell them
not just one day but every day those kids
are sitting over there
please join us and email all the news shows
and the president and keep doing it
i have changed my mind on letter writing
i think its the only way to get the news
out but letters to many many places will not
be as strong as 1000 to one place and every
day!!!!!!!
WE NEED IT ON THE NEWS!!!!!!!
HERE IS THE address TO ALL THE NEWS NIGHT SHOWS
ITS ALSO POSTED ON adoptionforums.com
http://abcnews.go.com/onair/2020/2020Index.html
and the president ...
president@whitehouse.gov
we can make a difference but all 3000 of us
have to email and email and email one place
lets not sit around and wait ..i am tired
of waiting ..they will make their own rules
and go at their own pace
