Maybe I am a horrible father for using this post to welcome home someone other than my own new son. But at the Marriott last week I met a truly special guy who touched my heart. Omar is a four year old who just joined his family North Dakota. His first night away from his hogar was a tough one and I?m so glad to have been able to meet him in his time of need. In any case, this courageous guy (and his courageous mom) stuck it out and by the time we all went to the Embassy together to pink up visas, he was ready for the adventures that lie ahead.
Omar, I wish you all the best and remember what Tio Kevin taught you: Helado en ingles es Ice Cream! And to anyone needing a driver, Armando pictured here with us was great. You can e-mail me for his contact info?
Welcome to the States, Omar!
God bless you & your family,
Jennifer
Hi Kevin!
Please e-mail Armando's info., as my husband and I are in the paperwork process and hope to be in Guatemala within the next several months. Thanks bunches!

Posted by: Karen at August 13, 2005 08:44 PMOn our second trip for our second son, we also had Armando as our tour guide. He was amazing with our son, and we thoroughly enjoyed his tours. He bought our son a bag of birdseed to feed the pigeons near Central Palace. If that didn't make a precious video clip, with Armando pouring seed into his tiny hand! We also highly recommend Armando. We have a photo of him with his arm around our small son on the steps of the Radisson, and it brings back great memories of the conversations he was able to hold with our son...when we could not.
Posted by: Nancy at August 14, 2005 11:10 PMHi Kevin..
Am I reading this correctly? Does this mean you now have brought a son home as well as your daughter? Is this the news that was hinted at in the July 7th posting? Curiosity has finally gotten the best of me!
I am the Mom of 2 ... a boy and a girl... from Guatemala myself. Congrats to you and Sheila, if I am reading this correctly!!! And to Isabel the big sister!!
