Sesame Street - Gina's Adoption

Finally, an adoption story our children can relate to...on Sesame Street.

"Gina travels to Guatemala to adopt a baby, and Maria joins her on the trip to help her with the language." Gina's baby, Marco, is one of our own (or I should say THREE of our own). This season's episodes stars Ashlynn and Caleb (twins) and is scheduled to premier this week.... in Atlanta: Monday at 8AM EST (Channel 30 WPBA) and Tuesday at 9AM EST (Channel 8 PBS). Check your local listings for these special programs. Next season, Marco will be played by Matthew! Guatadopt.com is extremely proud of being involved in the "search" for our new stars. I can't think of a better program to show the way we feel about our children!

I would LOVE to have a recording of these episodes, but can't find anywhere to order that sort of thing online. Anyone have a suggestion?

I could record it to VHS, but the technology is becoming obsolete. I could have a friend record it to Tivo and have it locked in their TV which doesn't do us much good.

Today's show was wonderful. Brought tears to my eyes....I love Sesame Street even more for doing this....!

I watched Sesame Street today and I got emotional watching the scene with the baby. Such a beautiful and smiling baby. What I didn't understand was why Gina would tell Big Bird & friends that she'd be back tomorrow (not in a few days or a week), because "Guatemala is far away." That's too bad--it made it seem so easy to just go pick up the baby. And it was unnecessary to shorten the timeframe anyway. A week is not that long and it could have been explained by saying something along the lines of, "Guatemala is far away and we need to get some things done there before we bring the baby home".

Jennifer B., regarding recording on Tivo, I believe they have the option, under recording options, to transfer it to VHS or DVD. I know ours has that option. Hope this helps.

I love Sesame Street! I grew up watching it, and so did my three children. My youngest and I sat down to watch Marco come home together. After the show we prayed for her brother Carlos to come home soon as well as all the children waiting for their forever families. Adoption is truly a wonderful way to complete a family. Thank you Sesame Street for shinning a positive light on the process. I too would love to get my hand on the episodes!! I can not wait to watch it with my son.

I was in Guatemala this week when the episodes aired but had set my DVR to record it. I watched it right after I got home. Never thought I would cry watching Sesame Street. Just hit so close to home after leaving my beautiful daughter behind in Guatemala. I am saving them for her to see some day!

It was so sweet. My one year old was laughing like crazy at the cute baby. I wish they'd show more babies on Sesame Street sometimes. I was just wondering, is Gina married? I know some countries won't let single parents adopt and I just want to know, since they chose Guatemala did they do their research. Anyone know? Thanks
