Welcome home Josephine!
We don't usually post about homecomings but this is a special case. Those who read our site and the Big List regularly have experienced the courage of Rick Spaulding who has posted as Adopting Papi. He and his wife were caught up in a case invovling Reaching Arms and Mary Bonn. This family not only refused to give up, they also refused to sit back and be victimized. Despite the fact that their case was pending, they helped organize families to file reports with authorities about the unethical and illegal activities of RAI. They went public in every way possible to show everyone that adoptive families have rights and can take a stand. It was gutsy, courageous, and admirable! And now they have their daughter home.
Congrats and kudos to you and I can't wait to meet y'all (especially Josephine!) in a couple weeks...

Posted by: Anonymous at June 30, 2007 11:38 PMCongratulations! As a victim myself I can trully appreciate the fight. I failed in being successful with my case but will be bringing home our daughter (second refferal) in just three short weeks. I admire thier courage and wish my case had had a happy ending with my first daughter. We want to see photos.

Posted by: Bonnie at July 3, 2007 10:34 AMCongratulations, you have your precious little bundle home and had the courage to persevere. We are so thankful to you for warning us about RAI and Mary Bonn, or we would have been caught in that whole mess. Enjoy your baby.

Congratulations to all three of you! We met you in Guatemala on a visit trip almost a year ago and it is so wonderful to know you are all together enjoying this summer.
Posted by: Nora at July 5, 2007 02:14 PMThank you all for the kind words. It is wonderful to finally have our baby girl home with us. (she's even starting to like me!)
She is a bit clingy to her mom but all in all it has gone pretty well.
After a little breather we intend to keep pushing for Nila and Tom Hilton to be prosecuted. It has been difficult to get anyone in our state to begin a criminal investigation. They keep telling us they don't have the time, manpower or jurisdiction to move forward. I'm going to quiz them on that issue as soon as I get my second wind. Right now we just want to have a little transition time with Josephine.
Nora, please email me (adoptingpapi@gmail.com) and remind us who you are and how you are doing. We love hearing from other people we met on our trips.
Again, thanks everyone for your well wishes. We are very happy!!
