Guatadopt Profiled "On Milwaukee"

OnMilwaukee is a daily magazine for the greater Milwaukee area (where I reside). Today's edition has a story on Guatemalan adoptions and Guatadopt.com. You can find it here:

And for anyone wondering, my darling Isabel has a piece of a pizza puzzle over here eye in the picture. We were playing "pepperoni face" when the picture was snapped.

Kevin - great article - very realistic and balanced. Adorable kids!! Thanks for all you do!

In the article you referenced that the new law with ammendments (I assume this is the Ortega) will be addressed in the next few weeks. Is there any estimated timeframe on this? Any idea when it will be read for final approval??

Good article - refreshing to notice that the writer was an adoptive mom herself! Very balanced. Good job!

Great article Kevin and what darling kiddos.

Thanks so much for mentioning the fact that the vast majority of adoptions are not corrupt and that we often have contact with the birth mom.

Thanks again!

My husband and I have been in the "process" for over a year now (14months)we have been in PGN for almost 6 months..our beautiful baby girl is 16 months old now...since this Dec 31st deadline was announced I have been frantic, worried, scared, frustrated and on and on...I truely want to thank you for your web site..the information along with seeing some of the postings of families that are also in the same postion (not that I am happy they are) give me some comfort in knowing we are not alone and that many people are stepping up to help.. I am sure as many of you already know its tough to explain time and time again why your baby hasn't come home...and the questions about the current issues that people have seen on CNN or other news casts...we don't know whats going to happen..God willing the new president will grant the grandfathering on the cases in PGN..and all of us will have a beautiful children home.. Thanks again to Kevin and everyone for providing a place where we can feel we are among peers that know what we are going through. God Bless us all!

Way to go, Kevin! A great story, and a great picture. And some nice, positive spin for a change. I agree with you about the media's sensationalization of adoption stories. It's too bad, but most of the stories seem to be about shocking people, rather than providing the truth about the issue. Oh well, that's where GuatAdopt comes in.

Outstanding article, Kevin -- it's good to finally put a face to your name. As always, I am so proud of all you do to support Guatemalan adoptive families. You rock double time tonight!!

Tina, our kids were born around the same time, it seems. We re-entered PGN on August 23 and got approved on October 26. Wilson will come home just in time for Christmas, we hope. Hang in there and know that one family in Memphis is praying for you.
