Another One Bites the Dust

Another agency, Adoption International Program, is a goner, with numerous felony charges and it's founder Orson Mozes on the run. This agency has NO CONNECTION to Adoptions International in Philadelphia (Hannah Wallace's agency) or to Adopt International (Candace O'Brien) out of Florida. In fact, I think there is another California agency out of San Francisco with a similar name that is not connected.

An ABC News story can be found here: http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/investigators&id=6080624

I think we can all expect more such investigations as it seems the current tide. As always, we applaud the authorities who actually listened to PAPs and encourage others to do the same!

I hope they find him and the victims have their day in court. A hearty thank you to California for actually listening to the PAPs who have been taken advantage of. Men like Mozes make it difficult for the GOOD agencies to actually get respect.

I KNEW IT>>>I KNEW IT! I contacted this agency once about adoption, and they gave me the creeps....so i went with a different agency!

We are part of the lawsuit against this evil evil man. He broke our hearts and stole our money just as he did many others, None of us will rest until justice is done. At least by exposing him we have helped to save others from this heartache. We have to live with the hurt of not knowing what ever happened to "our" baby. Thank you Kevin for posting this.

Hopefully adoption Partners will be next!

I would like to know what Adoption Partners did. When I adopted through them in 2003 (through the Hague mess), everything was fine and Joanne, whom I personally met, was professional and helpful. When did things start going wrong with her and her agency?

I admit...I am a victim, as soon as I sent my money to him we learned of the yahoo groups and all the wrong he has done. Needless to say we never made it to Kaz to adopt our son but we are now adopting a little girl from Guatemala!

Kevin, I was very glad to see this, and I do hope there will be more of this type of investigation/charges forthcoming on agencies who have foolishly chosen to operate this way!

Just for the record, THERE IS in fact an agency in California (SF) with an office in Hawaii whose name is also Adopt International. They do great work.

Lisa...
Well it would take all night and a book to say what adoption partners have done to MANY people.... A few lucky people have had a good experience with them but most have not. Look at the adoption agency rating site... you will read with your mouth open.... for us... the worst thing they did to us was refer us a child that was NOT available and they knew it, and then continued to lead us on. You don't have to look far to find many families that had terrible experience and some are in lawsuits with them trying to get their money back!

When we first started researching adoption I had contacted this guy after seeing a photolisting. The hairs on my neck and arm stood up just from our phone conversation. One Google search of his name turned up so much horrible info. I knew to stay clear! Thank goodness he if no longer flying under the radar. i hope they stick it to this one good!!!

Lisa, it's not a "book" about Adoption Partners, but it's a start.

VERY, VERY glad to see this Kevin! People need to know there are agencies who do tell lies and those directors NEED to be stopped! Glad to see at least one state took such and interest. I hope others will follow where it is needed... I am looking way down south, myself!

We started a priocess with this guy in early 2006.. Very shady.. We had some issues with our dosier that prevented us from adopting in China. My wife was also drawn to the photo listing of children available now. We started the process with an application and initial application fee and began buidling the dosier. Before we got much further he contacted us to tell us that the Foreign fee would be double du eto our issues. I think it went from like 6-12 thousand and two days later it went from 12-18. It's like he felt he had us on the hook and price was not an object. We grew very suspecious and started to consult with another agency about Guatamala. Whne we told him we were through. He told us we would never be able to adopt from guatamala. We saved that last correspondence to send him a reply email this past fall with a picture of us and our new baby. Sounds like he never got it being on the run since last june. I hope they rake this guy through the coals he deserves worse. Is there DA contact that we can share our story if it warrants charges?
