Attn: "In Process" Abandonments

In the next day or so, Guatadopt will create a form where people waiting on an abandonment decree can register their information. We can make no promises of any success. Individual case info will kept confidential from the public but by flling it out you will be authorizing us to send it to the CCAI, CNA, or other governmental bodies as necessary. We did learn that CCAI would like this info and so we're happy to use our reach to the adoption community to help.

To be clear, once this form is up (we will post it here on the main Guatadopt.com homepage) you should only fill it out if: Your case needed a Certificate of Abandoment when CNA registration occured and thus could not be registered.

Kevin,

we were not able to register but supposably the judge granted the decree on Feb 25,2008 but has never released the COA so we still don't have it. Can we still complete the form?

Thank you, I am thrilled we will have a collective voice since these children are the ones who are really losing a future without a family.

Hey Kevin -- What do you mean by "in process" abandonment ? I have two friends who were trying to adopt children that were abandoned. However -- they never were able to get an official referral or sign a POA because the abandonment decree was never finished. Can you help these people? Or only people that have POAs signed? Does that make sense?

Thanks for ALL that you go.

We too did not have the decree but I think we do now. Can we also register?

We were an abandonment case and brought our son home this March. Very happy to see there might a sliver of possibility of getting some traction on those waiting out there on CoA.
Great work Guatadopt in pushing the door open ever so slightly..hope there is positive news in the weeks to come.

If this form needs to be completed, should the adoption agency that we are working with contact us about this document or is this something that we need to fill out and process?

You all are aksing a lot of questions - that should be no surprise :-)

Do not take this list to mean anything official. We were told that the CCAI would like to have a list so that they know how many cases there are and who they are. This came to us from a trusted PAP, not the CCAI. Guatadopt has about the best ability to reach the necessary and the will to do it, thus we are obliging so that the scope and some list is transparent.

There is no EXACT who should and should not fill it out. Please don't overthink.

If your adoption was jeopardized because when registration occurred you did not have a COA and you want to be on our list, then fill it out.

If you never got a referal, do not.

Please use your best judgement.

Once again, this is not saying that there is any progress on getting these case recognized. I do not want to mislead anyone. But by god, someone needed to get the names down so we are doing it.

Hope that makes sense.

We are also looking forward to filling out this form since we have a son who currently has been in the abandoment process since 2006. We have visited him twice and would love to have our precious son come home. Any help with "In abandoment process" cases is greatly appreciated.

I'm working on the form.

I was hoping to have it done by this morning....but I'm going to check about what type of information we need to collect.

Remember, this is not an official form. But we would like to provide the CNA with the information they need.

FYI: We don't have any reason to believe that abandonments that were registered prior to Dec. 31st need to be included. But you are welcome to fill it out in the event you did not have a CofA at the time of registration.
