Do You Know Me - July 2008

Authorities are trying to find out any information on this child. It is believed that she was referred to a family who may have been told the birthmother reclaimed. The child was found abandoned in Mexico and authorities are attempting to determine her origin, believing she is Guatemalan.

If you have any information, please e-mail me at info @ guatadopt.com (remove spaces before and after @ symbol).

It is so hard to believe that this sweet child was abondoned. I was so afraid that with all the problems that they are having in Guatemala that this is what would happen... Just because the government has decided to stop adoptions does not mean that people will stop having children that they can not take care of and stop needing to put their children up for adoption. I will continue to pray for all the little children in Guatemala that need someone to love them.

How old is this child, when was she abandoned? Could he hair have been darker earlier?

How prevalent is ear piercing of infants in Central/South America? Our adopted baby from Guatemala also had earrings. Is that a give-away with regards to country-of-origin in this case?

ebina2- Ear piercing of infant girls is very prevalent in Central, South America, and the Carribean, overall of Latino culture.

Lynda- current hair color could be due to a variety of reasons, the photo or the child's hair getting lighter or changing color as she aged. Please contact me.

There is a briefing in Washington tomorrow with JCICS and CCOA about the problems with PGN not releasing grandfathered cases. I called JCICS and they said everyone to contact their congressmen and Senators to be represented at the meeting . All the info is on the JCICS web site. There are many of us that have still not been released. Im sorry I didnt know where elase to post this on guatadopt!

I would like to hope JCICS is also addressing cases that have been released, and now are waiting 3-5 months for birth certificates.

These cases have been approved, signed off but are taking months to get the BC. UNICEF, Guatemala, explain to me how this is in the best interest of the child?

The JCICS info above was posted on our Forum, please check the Forum for up to the minute news and updates.

How old is this little one? Our little girl disappeared and her birthday is Oct.11. We were told that the foster mom was arrested and the baby went to an orphanage.
