To give you an update, I have spent my spare time for the last two weeks trying to get a form to work for submitting photos. Our hosting times out, so I started investigating other options. Along with this, I am struggling with my laptop going into la-la land while I am updating the form. I now have another solution, but it has YET to successfully send the photo but is sending a confirmation.
I will just give you a heads up that I am running out of time. Everything else here has been piling up while I try to get this running. Unless, we have a small miracle...we won't have a calendar this year. So, send me some good vibes!!!! This year, our calendar profits were going to The Do Good Charitable Foundation to jump start our Orphanage Relief program.
Posted by Kelly at September 20, 2008 12:40 PMIs there anything we can do to help? Can one of us do it for you? It would be something to do to take my mind off obsessing with PGN, BC, etc!! Let me know!
Posted by: michele Pleasants at September 20, 2008 01:27 PMI really hope you're able to get the calendars up. We just love ours and we now have a 15 month we could submit pics of!!
Posted by: Nicole at September 20, 2008 01:32 PMDear Kelly,
I have an idea. It may sound crazy, but tell me what you think.
What if you spend this fall and maybe first part of winter preparing a calendar for 2010? Then next fall you can be making the one for 2011? That way, it will take the crunch time out of it for you.
I just think we readers at Guatadopt need to understand that you have a life, a job, and a child who needs you. Maybe we need to give in a bit and stop using the calendars as Christmas gifts, but rather as Valentine surprises to give to those we love? You just had surgery a short time ago. Kevin and Marie just moved. I would be happy as can be if you still did the calendar, but it was for 2010 instead of 2009, and we received it in Jan or Feb instead of before Christmas!
What do other readers here think?
Peace, Lizzie
Proud Mama to Anarosa, home since May 2004

Posted by: Bibi at September 20, 2008 02:50 PMI am so sad to hear that there may not be a calendar this year. This was a great and easy gift last year. Would love to help and will if i know what i can do. Please let me know. Would it work if we mailed in pictures just a thought?
Posted by: b poole at September 20, 2008 04:32 PMKelly,
Hang in there kiddo, I'm praying your laptop and all the good karma in the world opens up and lets this work out for you and fast! We want a 2009 Calendar and the children of Guatemala need the funds more then ever. Please God let this work out for Kelly and let it not take up all her precious time!
On a personal note, after owning Calendar years 2006, 2007 and 2008, I finally have a child home! I want her on that 2009 calendar. Me me me, its all about me!
Good luck Guate Team, if you need some help that a SAHM can help with just give me a hollar.
Posted by: Melissa at September 20, 2008 09:57 PMOh, this is sad! :(
Sending good vibes......
Posted by: kathleen at September 21, 2008 07:09 AMthis calendar is the best and the cutest. it does not have to be for the holidays. Dont' go crazy, but its the best present you can give someone. Feel better. mom to Jennifer (4) and Gillian (10).
Posted by: eve at September 21, 2008 08:30 PMI agree with Lizzie's post. Everyone here needs to understand how much work this is and while it is disappointing, we need to be considerate here. If you really want a calendar with your kids on it, try making one with Kodak. They come out very nice.
sending good vibes your way,we love the calendar and would really like to have one again but we totally understand if it doesnt happen this year..You guys have had so much on your plate and it is totally understandable....
love you guys..

I love the calenders just as much as everyone else and have had our son on their 3 years now. It is sad to think about not having one but I think the person who said maybe she could spend this year getting ready for a calander for 2010 and next year getting one ready for 2011 had a very good idea. Yes We do have to remember Kelly has a life and she does all she can for us and more! We would only have to go one year without one but that would be better than not having one at all ever again. This is just my opnion so take it as you may. The calanders always turn out beautiful and I do enjoy seeing all the kids they are all so beautiful. I would hate to see it gone forever! My 5 year old son loves looking at all the kids from his country as well. Thanks again for all you do Kelly!
Posted by: carrie at September 22, 2008 10:32 AMAnother idea. Shoot for sometime next year .. take the pressure off at Christams time. Go for, say, June 2009 through December 2010. More months means more photos!
I am sooo sorry to hear this may not happen. It looks like there are many who want to help, me included. I haven't submitted any pics for the 2009, but my little girl was featured in 2008. I'd hate to not see her & those other little smiling faces on my kitchen wall in 2009. Please, what can I do to help!!!!
