UPDATE 12/31/08 4:00 pm
GOOD NEWS!!!! The Pay Pal order went out Tues 12/30/08!!
Happy New Year y Un Prospero Año Nuevo
Before I bring bad news, let me remind everyone that the calendar is a fundraiser to support children in Guatemala. It is not a commercial product from a company earning a profit.
With that said, we were misinformed when we were told they had shipped. Those actually shipped last Thursday, not the week before.
Secondly, I completely screwed up when I sent out the mailing list. Long story short, if you used Pay Pal, odds are it has not shipped. The good news is that it will shortly. We'll miss X-MAS but ought to make New Year's. I deeply apologize for my error.

Thanks for the update. The most important thing is the money raised. You let everyone know ahead of time that you couldn't guarantee Christmas. Hope you enjoy the Holidays. Feliz Navidad.
Posted by: kim at December 23, 2008 06:07 PMWHAT?!? I'm never buying a calender again!!!
*just kidding*
No problem, Guate Team. All is well. Can't wait to see it WHENEVER it comes!!!
I'm actually relieved that the calendar is arriving later because I haven't been home. When it does arrive, it will be great - thanks for continuing to do the annual calendar!

Posted by: Fran Dunkel at December 24, 2008 08:16 AMThanks for the update. We were beginning to get nervous about where our calendars were but were going to wait until after Christmas to contact you. We'll look forward to seeing them soon. Felices Fiestas!
Posted by: Lee at December 24, 2008 10:00 AMNo problem because you all made it clear not to expect Christmas delivery, and I am just thankful that the calendar was put together at all. Thanks again to everyone involved in the effort!
Posted by: Lisa at December 24, 2008 11:48 AMWe did get ours, but as stated before the important thing is the great work you are doing. I have to say that they are just beautiful, and I am so grateful for all the hard work you all do. Thank you so very much, and God bless you all.
Kathleen
We got ours last night and I can say without any hesitation - they are totally worth the wait! You really outdid yourselves!
Posted by: Julie at December 24, 2008 12:57 PMWe didn't order any this year (not sure why...) but I know you are all doing the best you can. Thank you for your committment to the children in Guat!!!
Merry Christmas!
The calendar is absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all of your hard work and commitment to everyone, especially our
most precious children. It is worth every penny, and I am going to buy more next year!!!!!
I've enjoyed checking on your site as our adoption has progressed. All the work and heart you've put into providing information, etc. is much appreciated. One request-don't write "X-mas". Please tell me you don't mean to put an X instead of Christ's name? Disappointed.
Posted by: Tina at December 26, 2008 06:57 PMTina,
Hmmmmm. Well, I used the "X" purely out of speed. So while I am an "agnostic jew" and not a christian, that has nothing to do with the abbreviation. No offense intended....

just wanted to echo many sentiments... including thanks for posting the note - i was not expecting mine in time to ship to others before Christmas either, but just wanted to make sure they didn't get lost in shipping or something... and many thanks for doing this & all else you do... blessings to your family in 2009!
Posted by: Angie at December 27, 2008 10:14 PMMine arrived in great shape (and I think I paid via Paypal)...Thank you for making my daughter look great. It's wonderful that she can be a part of such a great effort. I appreciate Guatadopt and the DoGood Team for all you do.
Happy 2009!
And for those families still waiting....our thoughts & prayers are with you.
Posted by: Susy at December 29, 2008 12:43 AMRegarding the use of X-mas, I appreciate people's strong feelings about using an X instead of Christ's name. However, I recently was curious about the origin of the term X-mas and so I looked it up. I found that xmas actually goes way back to the 1600s and has it's origins in the Christian faith.
Posted by: jojo at December 29, 2008 09:13 AMThe X also is the Greek letter for the Ch in Christ, and was used as a Jewish-Christian symbol in apostolic times.
Posted by: Kevin F at December 31, 2008 09:13 AMyes, the "X" in "Xmas" is the Greek letter "chi", the first letter of the Greek spelling of the word "Christ". So, it *is* Christ's name...research it...
completely off the topic of the calendars! :-)
Happy 2009 to all,
Lisa
Posted by: Lisa at December 31, 2008 09:53 AMI appreciate the effort that is put into making one of the most beautiful calendars I've ever seen. I often look closely at the faces and see my own daughter in some of them. I know that there are similarities that exist but it still makes me wonder if any are her siblings. Either way we all share a common bond because of our children. Happy New Year everyone!
Posted by: Wendy at December 31, 2008 12:27 PMThis is the second year that my daughter was in the calendar. I just love seeing her among all of the other beautiful children. Thank you for putting together such a high quality, wonderful calendar!!
